Be The Change Inc — A Community Lifted by Founders, Directors, Volunteers, and Donors
When the pandemic began and life changed overnight, something extraordinary happened in Radcliff. Chef Maria’s Greek Deli on South Wilson Road became more than a restaurant — it became a beacon of hope. Chef Maria Bell, together with her brother Emmanouil Konstantinidis and her husband Michael Bell, opened their doors not for profit, but for people. With the help of compassionate donors and everyday citizens, the deli began preparing free meals for anyone in need.
People brought food, blankets, clothing, and even their last few dollars, simply wanting to help. Volunteers stepped in to cook, pack, and deliver meals. That beautiful wave of generosity sparked what would grow into Be The Change Inc.
Five Years of Service Led by Heart and Hard Work
Over the past five years, the founders and directors — Chef Maria Bell, Emmanouil Konstantinidis, Michael Bell, retired Navy Captain Kristin Hayden Ramirez, and retired teacher Cindy Chamberlain — have worked tirelessly to build a strong, reliable support system for the people of Radcliff and Hardin County. Their leadership, combined with the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors, has made unbelievable things possible.
Here’s what the entire community has accomplished together:
🌟 Blessings Boxes Across Hardin County
Nineteen Blessings Boxes were built and are continually maintained thanks to volunteers who check them daily and donors who keep them filled. These small outdoor pantries have helped countless families put food on the table during difficult times.
🌟 Holiday Meals That Bring Comfort
Every Thanksgiving, the team — led by Chef Maria and supported by dozens of volunteers — prepares and distributes 500–600 meals. Every Christmas, 600–700 people receive warm dinners made with love. These meals have become holiday traditions for many families who depend on them.
🌟 A Donated Van That Delivers Care
Two years ago, a generous donor gifted a van. Volunteers now use that van to deliver food and essential supplies to seniors, families without transportation, and people facing sudden hardship.
🌟 Strong Community Partnerships
The growth of Be The Change Inc. has been made possible through ongoing support from businesses and individuals. The Swope Family of Dealerships has committed yearly support. Walmart Community Grants have helped stock Blessings Boxes and holiday meals. Many local families donate clothing, food, and funds month after month.
None of this would be possible without the tireless effort of volunteers who show up rain or shine — sorting clothes, driving the van, cooking meals, packing boxes, greeting guests, and giving their time with kindness and humility.
A New Chapter at 849 North Dixie Blvd

This new location exists because of the tremendous work of the founders, directors, volunteers, and donors who have given their energy, time, and resources. It is a place where:

On the night of May 16, 2025, an EF-4 tornado carved a path of devastation through London, Kentucky, leaving behind a trail of wreckage, heartbreak, and unimaginable loss. With winds reaching 170 mph, entire neighborhoods were flattened. Seventeen lives were lost in Laurel County alone—parents, grandparents, children—each one a part of the fabric of this close-knit community.
But even amid the debris, something else was found: hope.
When the winds died down and the sky cleared, the people of Radcliff and Hardin County didn’t wait for someone else to act. They moved. Chef Maria Bell, founder of BE THE CHANGE INC, stood up and made a simple but powerful promise: "We’re coming." She announced she would drive the nonprofit’s van directly to London-Corbin Airport to deliver aid.
And the people listened.
Within two days, 800 non-perishable food items flooded in. Hands that could have scrolled past chose instead to serve, to shop, to give. The van was packed to the brim.
On May 21st, Chef Maria Bell and Director Emmanouil Konstantinidis set off for London. As they arrived, the air was still thick with sorrow. Broken homes, shredded trees, and silent streets stood as grim reminders of what had happened just days before. Yet, as the van doors opened, something extraordinary happened.
Volunteers appeared—not called, not coerced, but compelled—from every direction. Teenagers, elders, mothers with babies on their hips. They ran. They lifted. They hugged. Some had tears in their eyes; others bore the quiet determination of neighbors who refuse to let tragedy define them.
💔 Amid the ruins, love moved.
🍲 Amid the debris, dignity was restored.
🤝 Amid the loss, Kentuckians stood together—not as strangers, but as family.
This wasn’t just a food drop. It was a declaration:
“We are still here. We are still strong. And we will rebuild—together.”
To every person who donated, loaded, drove, and lifted—thank you. You were the hands of hope in a moment when it was needed most.

The month of November and December 2024 have been extremely busy for "Be The Change Inc:", its founder Radcliff City Council Woman Maria Bell, its Directors, its volunteers, its donors and the whole community. Many philanthropists in the city of Radcliff and its surrounding areas, organized food drives collecting a lot of non perishable items to place in the Blessings Boxes the non profit has installed in the ground, and lots of perishable items the non profit used to cook and deliver once a week, in various neighborhoods around Radcliff. In addition, Be The Change Inc went the extra mile to deliver food to residents with no transportation. Our network of people kept the promise, once again, to make sure that no individual was left without a warm meal this holiday season.
